"Educating for Democracy" is inspired by John Dewey, one of the first and still most up-to-date American educators. His book, "Democracy and Education" should be read by all educators as well as the so-called "reformers" who seem to me to have no idea that democratic values should be a vital part of education. My blog, "Educating for Democracy," attempts to present the "teaching moment" that serious educators might consider when--and if--they use the classroom as a junior town hall for discussing democratic values and learning how to apply them in the classroom to their everyday lives.
