This blog comes from a Chicago transplant, San Francisco assimilator, a National Board Certified Teacher, and a passionate learner, writer, and most importantly, thinker!
Paul France's approach to teaching and to life is grounded in the relationship building. He believes that all classroom cultures (whether they are the traditional definition of "classroom" or other places in which you find yourself learning) should be grounded in mutual trust, empathy, and vulnerability. This attitude allows all learners to take risks, make mistakes, and become immersed in the process of learning, so that they may become self-directed, critical, and flexible thinkers. While it is important that students are learning content, he believes that "learning how to learn" is even more important.
